Back to School Shopping at Pottery Barn Kids

It’s that time of the year again when parents of school/nursery going kids are scrambling to complete their back to school checklists without losing their minds! Luckily for me, my daughter’s school takes care of this headache themselves and provides their own supplies (bags too!).

But does that mean that I am not lured into the back to school atmosphere that encircles every mall or shop? Nopes. Big no! I have loved back to school shopping since I was a kid in Dubai and I look forward to it every year (even when I had a newborn!). I love browsing through miles and miles of themed bags, lunchboxes and other things we didn’t even know our children needed for school 😂.

So I did the same this year and if you are still scratching your head about where to head to for that last minute back to school shopping and not spend your life’s savings on it, look no further! I have found just the one stop shop for actual “quality” school supplies that you and your kids will love.

I visited Pottery Barn Kids and was pleased to see that they have a Buy 2 Get 1 free sale on for Back to school supplies and since it has been my favorite baby shop since Manaal was born, I decided to go through their collection and see if my girl would actually like to have any of the non-cartoon themed bags. Honestly, I don’t like bags with familiar cartoon characters on them as kids get bored with them very soon and they are rarely of good quality (although the prices are extremely high).

There were bags with a variety of simple designs to please both boys and girls and yet my daughter had a hard time choosing between unicorns, flowers, bunnies, galaxy…. and the list goes on and on!

The best part was that the bags came in three sizes, small, large and rolling, which meant it catered from nursery going kids to teens! How many times has your child come across a bag and it’s either too big or too small?! Most designs at Pottery Barn Kids come in all three sizes so no more tears!!

There’s also a Disney princesses themed one for the little princess enthusiasts ❤️ .

That’s just the bags. Pottery Barn Kids also have pencil cases, lunch bags, lunch boxes, thermoses and bottles to complete the collection. Which means that you can either match the whole school kit or get other designs (they are all so cute you would want them all!) to complement the bag.

The thermoses and water bottles are made of stainless steel and are BPA, phthalate and lead-free. They come in such a huge array of designs and patterns that your child will have a difficult time choosing just one.

The durable lunch bags, made of polyester, come in many varieties.

  1. Classic lunch bag
  2. Retro lunch bag
  3. Dual compartment lunch bag
  4. Cold pack lunch bag
  5. Insulated lunch sack
  6. Hard sided lunch bag

Of course, once again they also come in many prints and patterns, making the assortment almost never ending!

A word on the bento boxes by Pottery Barn Kids. They have a huge variety of plastic and stainless steel bento containers, making lunch time a happy affair. With so many shapes and sizes (and colors) the possibilities of packing healthy and fetching lunches are endless!

On that note, if you are looking for inspiration on packing creative lunches for your little one head over to the Instagram accounts of Bento Mommy and Cuddles and Crumbs. Also if you are looking to pack nutritious lunches (with no creative skills whatsoever) for your wee one, have a look at this post and stay tuned for more inspiration on my blog after school starts.

Once you have chosen your school kit, be sure to scan through the other school supplies that Pottery Barn Kids have in store. From clipboards to sleeping bags (read this pre school shopping and packing checklist) to funky accessories for your kid’s study table to anything you can possibly think of for your little prince or princesses room!!

The cherry on top is that everything can be personalized with your child’s name/monogram, which makes it even more special and different!! So what are you waiting for??!! With the buy 2 get 1 free offer, you get 3 things at the price of 2 (and prices are very reasonable as is). Plus you have the option of customizing your child’s lunch bag or bag with their name! I say run before it gets over!! Click here to view their back to school e-catalog.

Have you completed your back to school shopping? Have you been to Pottery Barn Kids? What do you think of their collection? I would love to hear from you!!
